Our Home Safety Quiz Is Not a Clinical Assessment

The 4-step risk quiz on this site provides a general, non-clinical estimate based on the answers you provide. It is a starting point for a conversation, not a diagnostic tool. Medical Alert Devices Have Real Limitations

What we want every reader to understand No fall detection system — including the top-ranked systems on this site — achieves 100% accuracy. Automatic fall detection can miss real falls and can occasionally trigger on non-fall movement. A medical alert system is a significant safety improvement for many households, but it is not a guarantee that help will always be summoned in time. Families should treat a medical alert system as one layer of a broader safety plan — alongside home modifications, physical therapy, and regular contact with family or caregivers — not as a complete solution on its own.

Condition-Specific Content Is General, Not Individualized

They do not account for an individual’s specific symptom severity, comorbidities, medication regimen, or care setting. Every one of those guides states plainly, in its own “What We Haven’t Tested” section, exactly which claims are based on our own evaluation versus manufacturer data versus published research — please read that section on any guide before making a purchase decision based on it.
